The Concert Choir is proud to have provided fine choral music to the community for more than 50 years. In 1959, a group of local singers came together under the leadership of Warren Geissinger. The group’s first concert, performed on June 5, 1960 at the First Congregational Church of Woodstock, consisted of Bach’s Contata No. 192 and Fauré’s Requiem.

Most recently, CCNC collaborated with Eastern Connecticut State University Concert Chorale and the Choir of the Norwich Cathedral on Tuesday, November 22nd at the Cathedral of St. Patrick in Norwich, CT with a second performance on Saturday, December 3 at Killingly High School.

The program for both concerts was as follows:

If Ye Love Me.......................................................................Thomas Tallis

Cantate Domino................................................................Giuseppi Pitoni

Ubi Caritas ..............................................................................Ola Gjello

Music, When Soft Voices Die................................................... Amy Rentz

At the Round Earth’s Imagined Corners ..................Williametta Spencer

Te Deum....................................................................Franz Joseph Haydn

Mass in C, K. 317, “Coronation Mass”........ Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Before you know it, our Spring 2012 concert will be upon us!

Our concerts are made possible partly through a grant from the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism, (http://www.ct.gov/cct/site/), and we would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge their critical support.
